- Higher performance (low latency, high throughput, detailed monitoring
Our SANs solutions reduce total cost of ownership by minimizing downtime, improving performance, and optimizing server and storage configurations. Our range of networking options includes both FibreChannel and iSCSI configurations (and solutions).
Wireless Networking - Voice and Data
Professional IT brings wireless networking to such high traffic public areas as airport terminals, convention centers, hotels, shared offices, multi-dwelling and multi-tenant units, auditoriums and classrooms. Enhanced authentication and security gives access to authorized users, while preventing snoops, interlopers and freeloaders. Thanks to comprehensive security, you can even deploy our wireless technology for use in sensitive corporate applications. End users get convenient, high-speed access, while you get management control and total peace of mind.
Thanks to industry-standard 802.11a/b/g/x wireless networking, Pro IT’s wireless systems can connect client PC''s without the headache of running cable. And robust transmission means that the access server can even accommodate large spaces where radio transmission echo has previously been a problem.
With a long history in wireless communications and a strong lineup in converged voice and data networking, Professional IT is positioned to deliver the benefits of wireless Local Area Networks (wLAN''s). Our solutions serve every environment from the simplest residential applications to offices, schools, campuses and metropolitan wireless networks.
Professional IT delivers highly secure, high-bandwidth, long-range communication to public spaces and security-sensitive applications. Industry-standard 802.11a/b/g/x networking means that your investment is protected now. And innovative, dual-slot design gives you a migration path to the future.
Authentication of each wireless user
When you network public areas, you need to reliably distinguish between authorized users and interlopers. That''s why we can provide a solution that authenticates users with the industry standard Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) protocol. You can also maintain accounting records, to track and bill activity for each user.
Wireless networking for security-sensitive applications
Pro IT’s solutions offer comprehensive security beyond RADIUS authentication. Casual eavesdroppers are thwarted by the system''s Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) radio modulation. More sophisticated snoops are blocked by Medium Access Control (MAC) based Access Control Table. For even greater protection, you can employ 64-bit RC4 encryption. RC4 encryption keys are automatically generated and distributed on a per-user, per session basis, using the Diffie-Hellman algorithm. Not only is this solution highly secure, it also requires no manual intervention from you. So you save time and money.
Speeds up to 54 Megabits per second
We deliver a data rate of up to 54 Megabits per second (Mb/s), much faster than a T1 or E1 line. So you can sustain high-bandwidth communications to laptop PCs and other wireless clients. And capacity for two PC cards enables you to operate two 54 MB/s channels simultaneously from a single unit.
Industry-standard wireless networking
Our wireless solutions are firmly based on the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11a/b/g /x (Wi-Fi compliant) standard for wireless LAN''s. You get robust, reliable connectivity and the high performance of wired LAN''s, but with the flexibility, mobility, and low cost of wireless.

Network Security
How secure is your company’s information? In this age of distributed computing and of client-server and Internet-enabled information access, computer security consistently raises to the top of most “important issues” lists. To answer this question with certainty is difficult. There are no absolutes with security. An important first step for most corporations is a security policy that establishes acceptable behavior. The next, and more critical step, is to enforce that security policy and measure its effectiveness.
Professional IT will assess your Network from multiple viewpoints for the best over all picture. These perspectives range from the physical security of the machines to the configuration of the firewalls to the trustworthiness of workers. The history of industrial espionage has been in the physical world and thus numerous practices have been developed to handle this portion of security assessment. The age of network based industrial espionage has a brief history and thus less developed security assessment practices.
Professional IT believes the security profile of a network of machines can be assessed from three principle vantage points:
- From the outside of the Enterprise - the view of the computer infrastructure through the firewall
- From the inside of the Enterprise - the view of computers from behind the firewall
- From the computer keyboard - the view from the actual operating system of the individual machine itself
Each of these perspectives will reveal unique security vulnerabilities. Removing the vulnerabilities as seen from outside the enterprise is the first step to halt the efforts of the casual hacker and industrial espionage age. Removing the vulnerabilities as they appear from behind the firewall accomplishes two goals. It creates a second line of defense should the firewall become compromised. It also creates a defense for the attacks around the firewall through a modem or other non-protected entryway. Finally evaluating security from the machines themselves will close vulnerabilities that could be exploited through a firewall or from other machines on the network. It also hardens the security of the machines, restricting the avenues of attack for the disgruntled worker or the co-opted contractor.
Professional IT will employ several lines of defense for the Corporate Information System. Professional IT realizes that a successful security audit must be thorough; it can not leave out possible vulnerabilities. It must also be repeatable to provide a consistent perspective on the firm''s security practice. By its very nature a security assessment will initially increase the workload for an MIS department. These seemingly conflicting goals can be met through the use of a security audit tools that can be provided by Professional IT thorough and repeatable process with an effective means of implementing corrective actions.
